Swargadeo Pratap Singh Maidam

His Majesty Pratap Singh died in 1641 AD. He ruled the Ahom kingdom from 1603 to 1641 for about thirty-eight (38) years.


Swargadeo Pratap Singh was a famous Ahom king. He did a lot of public works during his reign. Swargadeo Pratap Singh was an all-round king. He spent most of his thirty-eight-year reign with the Mughals, but he did much for the welfare of the people. He has done many things like building various alleys,digging ponds. Swargadeo Pratap Singh established peace in the Ahom kingdom. Swargadeo Pratap Singh will always be remembered by the Assamese as it was during his reign that the Assamese language occupied an important place in the Ahom court and it was during his reign that the Ahom octagonal coins were minted in Assamese. 1649 AD Maidan made Purananda Singh Swargdev dig the Maidam again Mirjumea dug this maidam and took all the money and gold but there is no popper evidence found.
